Caramelized
Onion
Caramelized onions bring out their incredible natural flavor. They are excellent in sandwiches and pizzas, in pastas, in soups, in meat, fish and egg dishes, or in appetizer dishes. We can caramelize any type of onion. Some just caramelize faster than others. It all depends on its sugar content. Standard yellow onions caramelize very well, and actually contain more sugars than "sweet" onions, which only appear to taste sweeter because they have fewer sulfur compounds. At Culingo we have two ways to caramelize onions.
With sugar
With a little time and patience, caramelizing onions can turn our tears in our factory into a sweet temptation. By breaking down and browning the natural sugars in the onion, it gives it a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor that adds an extra dimension to everything from burgers to baked potatoes. What we do is cook the onion for 2 hours and over low heat so that the onion caramelizes and has a dark color.

Without sugar
We cook the onion normally and add sugar to the onion. This is a cheaper way to do it than the previous one. The onion will be sweet in the first bite, but you will notice the onion flavor in the following bites.
